Community Care Transit Help Locals Attend Urban Appointments
Overview:
Community Care Transit allows community members to travel to and return from Vancouver, providing direct and reliable access to care.
[Regarding non-emergency patient transport between this community and urban centres] They could take transport, but that’s a bit indirect. Quite frankly, they would either use BC Ambulance patient transfer or private or we have a non-profit here [called] [Community X] Care Transit…and they take patients to appointments and stuff and they’ll arrange for shopping tours, specifically for seniors and the Indigenous, kind of thing. Speaker 1 They’ll run them to appointments in [Community B], wait, and bring them back, you know, and wait for them. So, that helps a lot because it’s a lot of stress on the people, hey, so, and they’re local drivers who usually, so, they’re usually become a little more comfortable with each other and everything else.
