Community Medicine

Overview:

Once a month, physicians sit down with community to ask how to help. Many programs and initiatives have spurred from these conversations.
Community Championed Home Hospice Program
[In reference to the Cowichan seniors lodge closing] part of an extension of my scope of practice, has become this sort of community medicine piece, to just sit down with everybody once a month and say, “How can we help?” And we do a lot extra through that. It’s kind of hard to define because it’s sort of nebulous…but there’s tons of very interesting programs that exist that didn’t exist before.
